COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A man accused of driving into a 13-month-old boy in a stroller, killing him, was being chased by Chicago Police after being seen "very calmly" walking away from the slaying of Chicago rapperCapo, prosecutors said in court Monday.
Antoine Watkins, 21, admitted to being the driver who hit and killed Dillan Harris on Saturday afternoon in Woodlawn, Asst. State's Atty. Jennifer Cooper said in court.
He is charged with murder, but he's not charged in the shooting of Capo, a 22-year-old friend and business associate of rapper Chief Keef.
During the bond hearing for Watkins, a distraught woman screaming "You killed my f------ baby" was escorted from a Cook County courtroom Monday as a judge ordered Watkins held without bail.
Watkins, of the 8100 block of South Bennett Avenue, is charged with murder, fleeing police, not having a driver's license and driving without insurance after police found him driving in a car matching the description of the one that hit the toddler, police said.
None of the charges relate to the murder of Capo.
Police said the car was seen driving away from a shooting in the 7700 block of South Kingston Avenue around 1:45 p.m. Saturday. In that shooting, 22-year-old Chicago rapper Capo, a member of Chief Keef's Glo Gang, was shot in his back and left hip. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition but later pronounced dead, authorities said.
Shortly afterward, a car containing the "possible offenders" from the shooting struck the child, police said.
